Okay all you pet lovers, we need to give a
little time and attention to those of us who own
pets that are a little out of the “norm.” These
pets are not your garden-variety dog or cats.
These are pets that are just as cute, cuddly and
loveable. Some take up very little space and
need very little attention, while others may
take up quite a bit of space and just as much
attention. One thing is certain, they are all
loved. Some even make for an unusual combination
of friends. Let’s take a look at Sammy and
Nikko first, while you wouldn’t ordinarily think
of a guinea pig and parakeet being friends,
these two certain are. Even when tail feathers
are involved.
Speaking of feathers, our second featured layout
tells the story about how a gaggle of wild geese
helped soothe a soul and relieve some stress.
They eventually become part of a daily routine
that the entire family enjoys. Both the
artists used a variety of product, from die cuts
to ephemera, from chipboard to pins, and used
layering to pull the layouts together. |

Design notes: This one is of a couple of our critters.
Yes, they really do like to hang together,
except when Sammy chews off Nikko's tail,
which has happened now a couple times. No
worries, it grows back!!

Design notes: This is my Mom, my son Chris,
and just a few of the gaggle of various
sorts of ducks and geese. When my Dad was
sick with cancer, my Mom started going down
to the pond everyday to feed the ducks and
geese - that was her way to get away from
the stress of caring for my Dad, if only for
a few minutes. My Dad passed away a few
months ago, but she still goes to the pond
every evening around 5 pm, and her pets
scurry over from wherever they are - most of
them are usually there waiting for her
arrival (or maybe the food's) arrival.

Design notes: I
love documenting a conversation between
people in my layouts--especially chats with
my children. Using two different
colors is an easy way to distinguish between
speakers.
