Card Corner

Jennifer Wuthrich

Whether you say Dad, Papa, Babbo, or perhaps Pappie, this month is all about those men that we love!  With Father’s Day right around the corner, it’s time to head into your craft rooms and get a head start on those cards for the men in your life.

I often hear the crafting “pains” from card makers when it comes to making cards for the men in their lives.  While it’s true that in most cases you will not be reaching for those flowers or pink lace patterns, don’t be afraid to add in soft touches, such as using ribbon or adding some bling, which will add interest and dimension yet still keep your card masculine.

Design notes: Color image with markers. Print sentiment with your printer on to vellum, cut out with oval shape using George cartridge. Use corner rounder punch for the colored image.  Assemble using picture as reference. Card is 5 1/2" x 5 1/2".

Relax It’s your Day by DeeDee Campbell.  Supplies: Paper: Paper Studio, Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper, Stamp: Lockhart, Brads: Making Memories, Markers: Tombow, Copic, Tools: Cricut Expression (George Cartridge), Other: corner rounder punch.

Design notes: I used the edge of my scissors to give the paper a distressed look.

Father's Day by Jackie Gallagher.  Supplies:  Paper: Die Cuts With a View, Bo Bunny, Rub-on: Maya Road, Stickers: American Crafts, Provo Craft, Stamp: My Favorite Things, Ink: Ranger, Floss: DMC, Other: paper.

Design notes: A simple accent, such as a monogram letter, brings a masculine feel to your card.

Happy Father’s Day by Chrys Rose.  Supplies: Paper: GCD Studios, Chipboard: Tattered Angels, Paint: Delta, Rub-on: My Sentiments Exactly.
