Happy Summer
to you!
As I walked
through Target just last week, it was all I
could do to not fill my cart with boldly colored
summer items. I love looking at the
pitchers, cups, towels, blankets, cushions, and
can not resist picking up one or two items to
brighten up my house (and my spirits).
Associating bright colors with summer is a given
for me since pictures of my kids will include
green grass, blue water, purple popsicles, red
bicycles, and a host of other bold hues. I
start my summer off right with a scrap room
clean up rotating all of my wildest papers to
the front of the pile.
How about
you? Do you look at your scrapping and
realize that your colors change with the
seasons? Richer shades for fall?
Subdued for winter? Pastel for spring?
I am not sure if the changes stem from my
photographs or from my own mood. Either
way, summer scrapping is my favorite! Of
course, scrapping in the summer is not nearly as
easy to do. With kids home all day and the
sunlight lasting until almost bedtime, my
scrapping moments are harder to fit in.
Still, I make it a priority since I know it
helps me be a happier mom.
Next month,
we roll out 4 new columns as our new staff
members begin to make their mark on our
magazine. I am so excited to scrap and
submit for each one. Ready for a head's
up?
Easy Street:
Nicole will feature the work of simple scrappers
tackling new challenges each month.
Greenhouse:
Jackie challenges all of us to go green in our
scrappers and to bring in non traditional items.
Watch for her requests for everything from
repurposed packaging to dented silverware from
the kitchen sink.
Tool Time:
Diana knows a great way to keep our money in our
pocket is to use our tools wisely and
creatively. Get ready to get the most out
of your implements.
U-Turn:
Christa looks forward to showcasing outstanding
altered items and mini albums. She will
offer multiple photos, tips, tricks, and close
looks at beautiful creations.
Head on over
to our calls page to see
what you can submit and enjoy living bold this
summer!
