Lace Cardstock
Lace papers provide a versatility that I love. You can use an entire sheet, a piece, or cut out individual shapes. They add just a hint of color and shape without blocking out your other fabulous paper choices. And the variety of shapes available make it easy to find one for every project.
Janneke designed this gorgeous digital flower paper which she is sharing with all of our readers for free. You can easily recolor it or even add a new texture to it for a look just right for you. Find it in the ScrapStreet store and download it today!

Design notes: I love the look of lace paper and I decided to make some digital lace paper myself. I tried to make the paper stand out by keeping the design very simple and layering it on top of two different colored backgrounds.

Baby Girl by Janneke Smit. Digital Supplies:
Paper and Ribbon: Lady Bugga by Jennifer Barrette and Lauren Grier (Sweet Shoppe Designs), Lace Paper: Janneke Smit (ScrapStreet), Ric-rac: West Coast Girls by Libby Weifenbach and Krystal Hartley (Sweet Shoppe Designs), Badge: Party Perfect by Dora’s Designs (ScrapStreet), Staple: Bubble-Licious by Christy Lyle & Zoe Pearn (Sweet Shoppe Designs), Fonts: Occidental, Times New Roman, Software: Adobe Photoshop CS3.
Journaling: my sweet girl, more beautiful every day, 10*23*08

Design notes: I simply love this photo of my boys, so excited to touch and feed the stingrays – they were just glowing! I wanted a simple, block-style design to make the focus of the photo be on them. The red apple lace worked on the left edge of the block, and combined with the red title and photo corner made of red brads, gave the repeat in red color around the photo that I wanted.

Delight in Life by Janice Badger. Supplies: Paper: KI Memories, Fancy Pants, My Mind’s Eye, Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper, Brads: Making Memories, Ink: Clearsnap, Tsukineko, Adhesive: Scotch, Other: hole punch, semi-glossy photo paper.
Journaling: Feeding the stingrays at Sea World. February 2009

Design notes:
Since I wanted a more urban feel for my layout, I quickly colored the lace paper black. I really love the subtle dimension it adds.

City Girl by Dora Phillips. Digital Supplies: Paper, Die-cuts, Rope: Furry Stuff by Aprilmouse and Hanulienka Design (Pickleberrypop), Lace Paper: Janneke Smit (ScrapStreet), Notepaper: Get Schooled by Dora Phillips (ScrapStreet), Software: Adobe Photoshop CS2, Font: Sweethand.
Journaling: Nice try, sugar. You really wanted to look all "gangsta" during our downtown photo shoot. But the problem is you are just too cute to pull off the look.
