Love is in the air this month! I am such a romantic and just adore Valentine’s Day. The thought of people all over the country celebrating their love for each other at the same time just makes me smile. Hallmark research shows that more than half of the U.S. population celebrates Valentine’s Day by buying greeting cards. Not only do we express love for our spouses or significant others on this day, but we also celebrate our children, parents, friends, teachers, neighbors and even pets.

Take a look at some of our submissions for February’s sketch. Meesh shows how much her dog is a part of her life, while Lisa celebrates her love for her son, and Janneke very creatively turned the sketch into a lovely Valentine’s card.

With this sketch, I wanted to create a special opportunity for people to showcase things that they love.  Use as many or as few boxes necessary to tell the story.  Some of the boxes could be embellishment boxes or even journaling boxes.

Design note: This is such a versatile sketch, you could do so many different subjects, but I chose to showcase different moments in my daughter’s dog Tucker’s life. I thought his coloring would go well with the colors of the kit.

Friend by Michelle Boeckermann. Supplies: Digital Kit "Dog Gone Cute" by Mindy Teresawa at Designer Digitals.

Design note: I loved the idea of using this sketch to create a year in review.

Journaling: 2007 Daniel’s First year.

How you have grown by Lisa J. Peppers.  Supplies: Xavier kit by Atomic Cupcake, Fonts: 2 Peas Gimmie Coffee, Autumn Leaves Girlish.

Design note: This sketch can also be used for a card. I used some cardstock scraps and left over letter stickers and rub-ons to create this contemporary card.

Xoxo by Janneke Smit. Supplies: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper, Ribbon: Doodlebug Design, Hearts: Creative Creations, Adornit Metal Accents, Stickers: EK Success, Making Memories, Rub-ons: Junkitz.
