Going Places

 Dora Phillips

Each month, ScrapStreet travels to a new street, taking inspiration from that particular location.  We learn a bit about our stop and try to infuse that knowledge and attitude in our creations.  The monthly challenges encourage us to shake up our scrapping, trying new techniques, themes, and altered items as well as cards and color combinations.  Travel along with us as we spend February enjoying:

Sapporo Snow Festival

Ready for the ultimate in altering? Come see what these amazing artists can do with snow and ice as we visit Sapporo, Japan just in time for the annual festival.

                      The Challenges

Color

We start with the white of the snow and the black of the night sky and then toss in shades of red for the love that February showcases. Accent this classic color combination with a sprinkle of whatever strikes your fancy.

Card

Pass along a bit of love or just a warm thought. Let someone know that you are thinking of them and wish they were near today.

Theme

Inspiration. The history of the festival teaches us that in a depressed economic and emotional time, six teenagers found a way to inspire an entire city by creating something fun and beautiful. Let their spirit shine as you create pages about what inspires you.

Technique

Simple lines and detailed accents are the mainstays of the beautiful sculptures. The artists begin with simple and traditional shapes and then tuck in the most intricate of details. Take this philosophy to your scrapping and see what pages you can create.
