L'Amour

Dora Phillips

Ah, love.  It is in the air as the calendar flips to February.  Children begin planning for the perfect valentine cards for friends, crushes, teachers, and that first true love.  Classrooms are draped in red construction paper and stores stock specialty candies.  For a couple of weeks, chilly temperatures and winter blues give way to a bit of anticipation.

We fell in love with each of these layouts celebrating love.  Come along and take a peek.

Editor's note: Our Cover Winner! A non traditional kind of layout with bold colors both feminine and masculine. The mirroring of the images restates the title perfectly! Making this a sure fire winner with our staff.

Automatic Love by Nili Elburg. Supplies: Paper: A2Z, My Mind’s Eye, Cardstock: Bazzill, Transparency: Hambly, Gaffre Tape : 7 Gypsies, Letter Stickers: Scenic Route, American Crafts, Rub-on: Hambly, Chipboard: Magistical Memories, Flowers: Prima, Stamp: Autumn Leaves, Paint: Ranger.

Journaling: You & me - love in first sight. You & me - directly fall in love. You & me became one.

Design note:

I traced the vine mask with a black pen and colored it in with a coloring pencil so it is still semi-transparent but a little darker. I used the same technique for the frame around the whole page - a border pen stroke colored in with pencil til the edge. The patterned papers are outlined with a marker. I used two colors embossing powder on top of the chipboard photo corners.

SWAK by Janneke Smit. Supplies: Paper: Daisy D's, Chipboard letters: Scenic Route, Chipboard photo corners: Magistical Memories, Mask: Heidi Swap, Embossing powders: Gel-A-Tins, Pen: ZIG, Marker: Color Workshop, Pencil: Around the Block.

Journaling: Las Vegas, Christmas 2006.

Journaling: "Crazy, Sexy, in LOVE with you!! You are my heart, my soul, my rock. When I need you, you are there for me--You're my Best Friend, My Lover, My SOULMATE"

Mad About You by Kary Lewis. Supplies: Paper: K & Company, Cardstock: Bazzill, Chipboard: Deluxe Designs, Fancy Pants, Flowers: Prima, K & Company, Felt Ribbon: K & Company, Thickers: American Crafts.
