Happy February, Scrapstreet! February is of course the month for Valentine’s Day and the celebration of L-O-V-E. So I challenge you to take a few minutes and remember everyone and everything in your life that you truly love. Go ahead…I’ll wait. Got it? Great! Now for me…I love my family, my pets, my friends, all things chocolate, the guy who created Coke, my computer, and SCRAPSTREET! Let’s take a quick look back on what we loved about January.

I hope you had as much fun at our Barbados crop as I did. We ended up with over 20 challenges so there were lots of ideas to keep us busy. My favorite part was the fun sketch Michelle (MichMc) provided for us. Terry was the winner of Spink’s torturous flashing fruit game, Janneke won the word scramble prize and Christa was our overall crop winner…WTG, girls! Don’t forget to mark your calendars for our Sapporo weekend crop—Feb. 22nd-24th. You might win a prize, and even if you don’t, you get to scrap and play…it’s a WIN/WIN situation!

As usual, we LOVED hearing more stories from Dora’s ‘hood. With tasty new neighbors, rude party guests, swinging seniors, and fratguy hijinks, Dora’s hood is always good for story time. Breakfast club gives it a 5 out of 5 muffins for being a constant source of entertainment. Yep…drama, suspense, romance, action…this show has it ALL. And January’s episodes had us using the “thud”, “blinking” and “eek!” smilies at an alarming rate…not to mention highlighting every post…you know…just in case.

Some of us did NOT love January’s weather. I’m not sure if you northern gals are ever going to thaw out but I think almost everyone is ready for spring. Although, I have to say…I was totally psyched about getting some SNOW in Alabama!

It’s bingo time again. Hope you’ve been playing with us. If you missed the sign-ups this time, remember to check the Arcade toward the end of the month for all the current info. Amber was our winner for January and will be receiving her loot soon. Congrats, Amber!

Have you signed up for the new Dine and Dash game? Sounds like Dora and MichMc have a big batch of fun challenges in the oven. Can’t wait to check it out. And what an exciting prize…CHA goodies! Good luck to all the players.

Time for Resident of the Month:

This month’s honorable mention goes to a gal that’s been with us for a little over a year now. You could say that she jumped in with both feet when she joined—even attended last year’s CHA with Dora and Spink. Her scrapbooking talent and her outgoing attitude quickly earned her a spot on the pit crew, where we consider her a welcome asset to the team. She’s fun and sweet and super friendly. She’s also supportive and ready to cheer you on when you need it. This month’s VIP is our very own Sketch Queen—MichMc! Stop and take the time to let her know we appreciate her.

Time for Jakey's Corner:

Hiya, ScrapStreet friends! It’s me again…Jakey. Jakey’s Aunt Woey says that Jakey’s been talking in “third person” but Jakey doesn’t have a clue what she means. Oh well…she says funny stuff sometimes…but she’s ok I guess. Sometimes she lets me have fwootloops for breakfast AND for lunch…and she even fixed my gameboy the other day. Well…I had to tell her HOW to fix it. She just took the game out and put it back in…like THAT’S gonna do anything…*rolls eyes*…silly Aunt Woey. Everyone KNOWS ya gotta bwow on stuff to fix it.

Guess what?!? A couple weeks ago…when it was really cold outside…this fluffy white stuff came down from the sky. My daddy said it was called SNOW and it was sooooo pretty! Damon and daddy were scooping some up and making snowballs to throw, but it made my hands too wet and cold. So I had daddy make some for me…and then I had him stand close to me so I could throw them at him. It was lots of fun for him.

Well I better go now. *picks up toy phone* I got some calls to make. Superman might be coming over for snack time. BYE-BYE!!

Some things we learned in January:

1. There apparently is a shortage of plastic bags at K-Mart.

2. Carrots have skin on ‘em and vegetables that grown in the ground can be dirty. Who knew?

3. Ninjas HATE carrots.

4. Ghosts dislike late-night talk shows.

5. If you want to drag James outta the woodwork, ”WN’s” are the way to go.

6. It is NOT hard to keep a toddler. Ok…so we don’t actually believe this one, but it will be fun to find out if the person who said it still believes it a few weeks from now…heehee.

7. Fiberglass van bumpers do not hold up well in Minnesota.

8. Terry will accept ANY scrapping challenge…eeeek!

9. Jenn and Amber both are sporting Baby On board bumper stickers in their signatures. I sure hope it's nothing in the Scrapstreet water supply!

10. Watching Cleaning shows leads to Gertie getting lots of attention and the Dymo labeler supplies high in demand!

That’s about it for me this time around. Hope you all have a great February. Now get on over to the boards and start some trouble. I gotta have somethin’ to talk about NEXT time. ‘Til then…cya on the streets!
