Unique Boutique

  Terry McAuliffe

With September here, we can expect to see changes in the colors of nature. Brilliant summer colors: red, yellow, green are being slowing replaced with the rich fall colors: rust, gold, and white.

The inspiration pieces offers colors from across the rainbow. Denean picked up the brighter colors of summer for her layout. Lisa chose the richer, fuller colors of fall for her piece. And, Nicole easily mixed the two color pallets and included a bit a graph paper to remind us all of back to school.

Design note:

I was totally inspired by the colors in that photo! I loved seeing the bright pink-purple, orange, and green together! I also used lots of curves on my page like in the glass, and even put part of my title on a curve. I also used a "clear" font that I added some color too - just like some of the glass in the picture. It was a great inspirational piece!

Splashing Around by Denean Melcher.  Supplies: Digital Kit “Happy” by Julia Makotinsky.

Design note:

I was 'moved' by the shapes in these images. The waviness made me think of skirts on dresses. The green twists in the bottom middle image made me think of the swirls found in digi kits. In the end I found myself pulling wedding photos to mimic the flower shapes and adding curly flourishes.

Groomsmen & Bride by Lisa Peppers.  Supplies: Grateful Collaborative kit by the designers of DigiShopTalk.

Time on the Boat by Nicole Martel.  Supplies: Paper: Pink Paisley, Spanish Memories, Chipboard Letters: Basic Grey, Charms: Tinkering Ink, Calendar: Jenni Bowlin, Flowers: Prima, Label: American Crafts.

Design note: I was inspired by the orange circle from which I used an “S” for a monogram. I also loved the inspiration piece with the orange, blue and pink and that was my main focus of the layout! This was really fun and I was able to use paper from last year that seemed boring to me!
