Michelle McClung

I have to say that I love to see people practicing their craft and witnessing their God-given talents.  I went to a wedding once and was brought to tears by one of the singers: she had the voice of an angel and it was just so amazing to me.  I love to watch people painting because they can take blobs of color, turn it into a believable picture, and make it look easy.  When I was working, I loved being in surgery to watch the surgeons performing seemingly impossible operations with success.  I have met many horse trainers that can have an almost thousand pound animal doing whatever it is that they are asking it to do.  That kind of finesse goes beyond learning, it’s just something that you are born with and develop as you go along.

Witnessing talent is why I love to work at the ScrapStreet e-zine.  Yes, I have made some wonderful friends here, but seeing the gallery after a weekend crop, opening my e-mail to check the submissions, seeing what people create from my sketches and going through the magazine for the first time after it comes out just makes me giddy.   People’s talent and creativity is all over.

Design note:

Since it is the end of summer, I created a multi-photo sketch to give people the opportunity to use the numerous pictures that they took.  I wanted to make it a fun design to go along with fun photos.   “Waves” are in between the layers of photos just keeping with the theme and adding something a bit different.

Design note:

To make the "hose" I used one of the standard shape tools in Photoshop to cut the patterned paper, and I added a bevel and emboss layer style. I warped the text to match the curved lines. The kit has an orange scalloped paper , but I changed the colors by using this orange paper as a shape to cut out the blue and green papers.

Design note:

Cutting the frame of patterned paper was easy.  I just measured out the maximum width and height then cut it.  Then, measured the inside of the square and marked where I wanted to cut.  Took my paper cutter and pressed the blade on the first mark, and started cutting, resulting in a perfect frame.
