Scrap-a-ganza, Part 3:  Meeting Layle Koncar

I was still tired, but very happy, when I ran to the second class. I wished I had some time for a nice cup of coffee but the schedule was simply tight and there was no chance I was going to miss my Scenic Route class. I was expecting Sarah Milne but when I entered the class, that was almost totally filled up at the time I walked in, I saw a “familiar face” that wasn’t Sarah’s.  I forgot why Sarah wasn’t teaching, but I recognized Layle immediately. I read her blog very often and the profile picture was just SO Layle! No doubt about who was going to be the teacher.

I love Scenic Route products and sitting down while receiving my class kit filled with awesome products that were totally new to me (I hadn’t played with them for real yet, just admired them online) made me forget the missed cup of coffee at once. Layle was such a fun person! She was sparkling and extremely vivid. Talked A LOT, and made me laugh so much my tummy hurt! She was my my cup of coffee for that morning. A really nice espresso!

Apart from being totally fun she talked a lot about techniques, which is something I really like. We made two layouts in one hour. I am a totally slow scrapper so I just focused on one and bringing the tutorial for the second one home with me. I like to have something finished, I saw which papers we were going to use in the class and had some great pictures to go with them. The kit was filled with not only papers but also great chipboard shapes, scrap strips, letter stickers, die cut arrows and chipboard alphas. Too much yummy stuff to just leave unfinished.

After Layle taught us several ways to create handmade flowers, I totally lost myself playing with the wonderful Grafton line while listening to Layle’s stories and jokes. When class was over I simply had to speak a few words with her personally. Thanking her for an awesome class and just yap a little. Found out our husbands are from the same country and that’s why we both have beautiful last names! It made me smile a lot!

Taking a Layle class is something I can really recommend. I would love a cup of coffee like that every morning! If you aren’t able to take a class you can always check Layle’s blog for some beautiful inspiration and the latest news on Scenic Route products.
