ScrapStreet joined the world’s best athletes in Beijing, China
last month, celebrating the 2008 Summer Olympic Games. While we may not have put forth as much blood, sweat, or tears as the athletes, we had our fair share of awesome challenges, games and competition. The regularly scheduled Saturday Night Scraps were replaced with the month-long Olympic scrap-a-thon. And the gallery is overflowing with some wonderful new work that came about as a result. And while we scrapped we did plenty of cheering for our favorites: Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh, the women’s gymnastics team, and, of course, Michael Phelps.
Lots of changes occurred in the lives of the ScrapStreet sisters
during the month.
School started back with a mix of cheers and
tears. Kindergarten starting had a number of moms
dreading those first days of being without their little
ones, while other moms were doing cartwheels and some
were even willing to auction off their children just
to make it to the first day of school. The Sisters
were there with shoulder pads and duct tape in true
fashion to help support each other during this crazy
time.
Back to School also meant
back to work for some of our sisters! Farmer Pooh
traded in her straw gardening hat for a "Going
Postal" badge. Spink is probably making the worst
choice for her budget, but is now working at the
local craft store. JennE is the new lunch lady in
her town and can now keep her eye on her girls. Not
sure if that is a blessing or a curse? Check in next
month to find out! Stacey and Dora are also back to
work at their teaching jobs, full of fun characters
and daily quips to keep us giggling!
Congratulations, ladies and best of luck to you!
As the season came to a
conclusion, the Frat series came to it's final
airing. New to the Fall season, Dora introduced
us to a new storybook “fodder.” Clueless,
Houston and Churchgirl have us giggling, shaking our
heads and gasping at the thoughts... but most of
all... have us all yelling at Dora for the next
airing!!! It seems that the streets are never in short supply of a few good stories.
Scrap Street top ten things we
are doing and learning:
10. Will Clueless ever get a clue?
Or will he be doomed to the beige life?
9. It seems Churchgirl isn’t so “church-y” after all.
8. Lori meets SuperClerk and
picks up some pointers. More coke, more coke... and
yeah... more coke. Watch those numbers just fly up!
Go Lori!
7. Winged animals with sonic powers have invaded human territory, will the nightmares ever end for Spink?
Not if I can help it, that's right... When in doubt,
let a sister scrap it and send it to ya! *evil grin*
6. Will Bella be able to stay indoors or be banished to the cold, cruel outside world?
5. Who knew the Platinum
Club would get the whole senior class detention!
4. Now that the bears have
gone shopping, it's all bets on for Baby Bell to
arrive this month!
3. The debate continues:
hair , no hair, too old, too young. Sheesh, these
gals are picky about their Wednesday hunk!
2. "WARNING"
Testosterone poisoning is now officially a genetic
disease that confines Street Sisters to forever
knowing how to buy, find, and replace toilet paper.
Just ask Janice! "7 years" *giggle*
1. Cougars are on the prowl.
Not only in our mirrors for new hair dos, but also
in our bedrooms! Cougars and Bunnies ... who
knew!

Be sure to stay tuned or return next month for the answers to these and more questions as we continue down the road at ScrapStreet.com.
