All around my house, signs of fall are clearly evident. A yard that needs a final mow, hundreds of leaves strewn about the yard begging to be raked, a house that needs a final “goodbye to warmer weather” clean, and closets full of summer clothes that long to take a deep winter's nap. Despite all of these mundane fall chores, I am deeply thankful for the season change.

Fall always conjures up images of football-watching parties cheering on our favorite teams in jeans and soft sweatshirts. It lifts my mood with warm apple cider and little monsters and wee witches toting around baskets full of yummy candy. What fall really reminds me of is how truly lucky I am in my life.

My challenge to the kit club this month was based on those strong feelings of thankfulness. Their mission was to create a mini-album of a few things they were most thankful for. From the love of being a soccer mom, to that for our precious children and spouses or to our lifelong friends, the one thing all of our albums portrayed is how eternally thankful we are for love: giving, receiving, and everything in between.

Things I Love by Jenn Keefer. Supplies: Paper: Sweetwater, Chipboard: Heidi Swapp, Ink: Versacolor, Colorbok, Stickers: EK Success, Rick Rack: Wright's, Bling: Heidi Swapp, Embossing Powder: Gelatins, Other: ribbon, buttons, foam alpha, bling alpha.

Editor's note: Jenn’s photo of Coca-Cola made me laugh out loud. Her heartfelt images of her favorite things made me smile and I loved how she touched on all aspects of her life in one mini-album.

Thankful by Lynda Lindley. Supplies: Paper: Sweetwater, Cardstock: Die Cuts With a View, Chipboard Mini-Album: Bo Bunny, Maya Road, Rub-ons: Sweetwater, Journaling spots: Your Memories by Design.

Design notes: I painted the frame for the cover with a cream paint then backed it with cardstock that I had applied the rub-on directly onto. Using these refill pages and rings will allow me to easily add additional pages to the album as I want to do future pages about what I am thankful for; such as my home; health, and chocolate!

Sisters by Terry McAuliffe. Supplies: Paper: Sweetwater, Chipboard Mini-Album: Maya Road, Flowers: Prima, Rub-ons: Sweetwater, Bo-Bunny, Stickers: Sweetwater, Pen: Sakura, Specialty Ink: Tattered Angels, Ink: Clearsnap, Other: chipboard frames.

Design Note: I was waiting for the perfect medium to create an album of my ScrapStreet Sisters reunion in Chicago at Summer CHA 2008. The Maya Road album was perfect and the SS October 08 Kit of Sweetwater products just complimented it all perfectly! Having the opportunity to meet and hug my SS sisters was amazing! We now share a bond that will forever!

I Am Thankful For… by Brianne Nevill.  Supplies: Paper: Scarlet Lime, Flowers: Prima, Buttons: Scarlet Lime, Stickers: EK Success, Jenni Bowlin, Mini-Album: Die Cuts With a View,  Pen: American Crafts, Other: Mesh flowers, buttons, ribbon, Fonts: Ali’s Writing, Comic Book Commando, DB Woodsy, Papyrus,.

Journaling: (Pg 1) I am eternally thankful to God for the miracle of YOU! (Pg 2) I am so thankful for the bond you share and the way you both love me. (Pg 3) I am thankful for advice on the future even if, at the time, it was freely given to a deaf ear… I’m listening now, Dad. (pg 4) I am thankful for the past… (pg 5) the present… (pg 6) and the future…

Design Note: I measured the length and width of the pages and determined that I wanted all my photos to be the same size in my album. Next, I planned a theme of colors and just let my creativity soar. Instead of trying to save a space to journal in, I did my journaling on each photo in Photoshop prior to printing.
