Meeting Melodee Langworthy

I “met” Melodee in an online forum about two years ago. Melodee was coming to Holland to teach classes at the Scrap-a-Ganza (SAG) and was looking for someone to show her around in Amsterdam. I am a little patriotic, so if can show off my beautiful country and Amsterdam, the city I love most, then I am first in line.

We wrote each other back and forth and I really really planned on showing her around. Unfortunately, at that time I was very pregnant with Noah and Amber got sick. I wasn’t feeling too great myself so I had to cancel. I felt horrible over it but nothing I could do. By the time Amber and I recovered and everything went back to normal, Melodee was back in the states. I promised myself (and Melodee) that we would meet up somewhere somehow.

A year and a half later, Melodee was teaching at the SAG again.  Unfortunately, I booked all my classes before I discovered Melodee was going to be there, too. I was thrilled to find out she was teaching a class at my local scrapbook store a few days after the SAG. I immediately booked a class there and totally glad I did!

I got to meet Melodee face to face the first time at the SAG. Just a few minutes in the hallway enough time for a quick hug and a “see you soon”. I was totally happy the day I went to the LSS. I went in early just so we could chat a little before classes started.

Melodee is really really sweet and I had a blast being able to spend some time with her. I was really sorry that it was so short with us talking while preparing the class.   After class, there was another class booked so we had no more time to play.  After second class she had to fly back home again so I guess for a longer “date” we have to wait till next time.

Now about the class. I think it was totally brilliant! We did a lot with stamps and I loved the way Melodee incorporates stamps in her projects.  I totally enjoyed making my mini album and love way it looked. I admit that I peeked at her other class and felt a little sorry I couldn’t take two.

If you ever have the chance of taking a Melodee workshop, please take it. I promise you you won’t be disappointed. And take a peek at Melodee’s blog for more inspiration.

Now, flip to the next page and you can see the mini album I made in class!
