October was quite the month of Scrappy Ups and Funky Downs!

We kicked off the month with our annual HoHoHoedown Holiday Derby. This year the derby celebrated Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. The Pit Crew kept us motivated with daily challenges, games and inspiration. The overall winner of the HoHoHoedown was none other than Christa Parker! She received a wonderful box of Christmas goodies sponsored by Dora and ScrapWorks. Diana Broeder won a little prize for her ability to find all the layouts in a turkey montage and Linda Carlson was the winner of the secret "Who gave the most praise" during the derby. Our gallery was flooded with wonderful works of art. Making us all feel like everyone is a winner!

During the Derby we also had a special Cards for soldiers contest. Kristene Boston made over 70 Christmas cards and turned them into Brianne Nevill. Brianne is a military spouse hosting the Cards for Soldiers project. If you would like to  be a contributor to this wonderful organization check out their website Cards for Hero's.

This month’s bingo game finally came to a conclusion Halloween night with me winning! Thanks to everyone that plays! I can't wait to see what scrappy goodies you all sent! Hope you have your words in for next months bingo and your loot of $3.00 or less sent to Lori. November is preparing to start in a couple days!

It was also a month of reconnecting with loved ones; spending time with little ones we’ve missed (waving “Hi!” Jakey!), and continuing to chat off-line with our scrapstreet sisters on particularly good drinking nights. Reminding us all your just a phone call away.

Many of us are reading the “Twilight” series by Stephenie Meyers and anxiously awaiting the release of the feature film this month! We are planning a virtual moviegoer celebration by all viewing the movie on the same day! Are you on Team Edward or Team Jacob?

Organization and remodeling took a front seat this month. Bedrooms, sunrooms, porches and even scrap areas were not forgotten. Beautiful colors of paint, awesome trash to treasure projects, and unique “recycling” projects graced the pages of Life Lane! It might not of been scrappy mojo, but it was Gertie mojo, which is always good if scrappy mojo is stolen by Christa who won the Derby. *giggle*

For some reason, this October was a month of feeling a funky kind of funk for several of us. And in traditional scrapstreet sister fashion, an anti-funk text train was started, assuring each of us that we were there for each other no matter what. And the train served as a reminder that new, fun, and exciting things are on the way.

November is starting off with all the festivities of Christmas. Elmira Reindeer has returned with her two helpers, Bubba Elf and Roxy Reindeer for the annual Secret Santa. Both are already causing quite a commotion on the streets. Bubba is making a splash or maybe it's making them wanna dash with his invitation to his uhum interesting choice of living arrangements. While Roxy has us all wondering what uses can a ribbon crimper be used for other than crimping?

And finally...

Top 10 replies to different threads that had us giggling. Do you remember the subject?
