Pet Park

 Michelle Boeckermann

This month at the park we are taking a look at scrapping our pets in 1,2 and 3 pictures per page, and using neutral colors to enhance them. Although the color palettes are similar, the addition of more photos changes the feel of each page.  The picture sets the mood for each layout.  One large focal picture defines the page, keeping the pet strongly in the spotlight.  Two pictures offers a chance to either compare or contrast two shots.  Three pictures really allows the action (or lack thereof) to be showcased.  We really get to see what the pet is up to today.

Design note:  I wanted to really emphasize his paw in the photo, so I added the flourish rub-on to capture that reaching for something, even if it was just curiosity about the camera.

Design note: I don't know about you, but every single time I leave a layout in progress on my work table, I find my daughter's cat napping on top of it.  Whenever my daughter sees her, she will try to shoo her out before I catch her, except for this day.  When I popped into my office there was my child, camera in hand, placing different items into the cat's paws so she could be a scrap cat.

Design note:

The design of the title and journaling blocks were inspired by a print ad for Fabri-Quilt, Inc.

Journaling:  Nolan’s favorite springtime activity involves claiming the chair on the sun porch as her own. It’s in a sunbeam for most of the afternoon, just perfect for a nice, 5-hour nap.
