Journal With
Me Dora

A couple of months
ago, during a challenge night, one of our
scrapping friends shared a special
journaling idea with us. When Terry's
mother was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer,
she gave her a journal, new pen, and a jar
of prompts. After her mother passed,
this journal became one of her most prized
possessions. It holds her mother's
thoughts and memories written in her own
hand. Absolutely priceless and
completely cherished.
I couldn't stop
thinking about this idea. My younger
brother passed away two years ago and I
would give anything to have some of his
ideas and escapades written down. And
my father's stories -- I have tried to
document the ones I remember, but how many
more were lost. He was a far better
storyteller than I and reading them in his
own words would have been the greatest of
gifts.
And still I thought.
There are so many times in my own life that
I wish I had written down. I have more
than a few "what was I thinking" moments.
Add to that just the ordinary "what was my
life like then?" pondering thoughts and I
realize that I need to better document my
own life for ME (and anyone who might want a
peek at my life after I have gone.)
What to do with all
of these thoughts? Share them with my
nearest and dearest, of course. I had
a chat with Terry and a few of my close
friends and decided to take a "journal jar"
virtual. We have created a journal
blog called
Journal With Me. Each Sunday, one
of us will post a new prompt to get us all
writing. Do you have a few minutes
each week to leave a legacy of YOU?
Head to the next page for a bit more info.

Design Note: I did the majority of the work in
Photoshop Elements, but really wanted
some dimension to the journal itself. Adding the flowers and bling really
gave it what I was looking for. This journal is a book of thoughts to my
Mother for Mother's Day.

note:
I loved the bright and happy colors of this
paper line and was more than a bit addicted
to it for a couple of weeks. These
journals just feel so cheery! |

Design Note: I picked these papers because I wanted something fun and colorful to
inspire me soon as I pick it up. The scrolls represent the twists and turns that
come in and out of my life, and a bit of bling to signify and remind myself to
always look for the beauty in life.
