Pet Park

 Michelle Boeckermann

When it comes to doing pet pages, I have found that the best titles come from quotes. Animals don’t have as complex a nature as humans, and are easier to fit quotes to. I found this quote online and couldn’t wait to put it in the call list to see what people would do with it. What I received was a wonderful batch of loving, fun pages dedicated to the pets in our lives. The next time you are searching for a title to do for your animal, click the google button and search for animal quotes. I guarantee you will find something perfect for every mood your pet is displaying.

Journaling: Quote by Anatole France: Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened~ Anatole France. Maui and Rae 2008

Pawsitively Perfect by Heather Loewenhardt. Digital Supplies: Believe in Magic kit and Peach Dreams Backpack, both by Lauren Bavin, Swish Kit by Tina Chambers, Fonts: Rockwell, Lima Bean, Bickley Script, Stencil, Ariel.

Design note: I layered many papers and changed the blend modes to achieve the patterns and colors I wanted. I made a large circle and filled it with a paper and added a stroke to the outside. Then I beveled this and added shadows. I used the burn tool to darken the edge of the large circle to add weight. I filled the gold edge stars with green and overlayed them with the star jewels elements. I recolored Rae's sweatshirt, some of the tiny buttons on the hearts, the green flowers, the brown line of brads and the overlay to better match the Believe in Magic kit colors. I duplicated the photo and used the luminosity blend mode on the bottom one and changed opacity on the top photo until I got the desired result.

Design note: Caitlyn McAuliffe receives credit for the photo. She was messing around with the cat and camera and Lilo struck this very indignant pose - one only a true cat lover/owner could love!

Lilo by Terry McAuliffe. Supplies: Paper: Little Yellow Bicycle, Cardstock: Die Cuts with a View, Flowers: Prima, Chipboard: Little Yellow Bicycle, Brads: Making Memories, Other: Ribbon, Ink.

Journaling: Quote: “Until one has loved an animal, a part of one’s soul remains unawakened.” -- Anatole France

Design note:

This kit was perfect for a quick layout. It came with a pre-done word art on the embellishment. I used my clone tool to erase the words already in it, so that I could place my own quote inside the circle.

Baby Rahja by Linda Carlson. Digital Supplies: Breath of Spring Kit by Faith True.
