Welcome to Discovery Drive! This month, Aimee
Matteucci joins us all the way from Alaska… how
nice it was to encounter a multi-photograph
scrapbooker this time around! Now, even though
not all of these works by Aimee are multi-photo,
notice that she likes multiples in other forms –
cutting up words, using repeated patterns,
adding extra shapes, and even good ol’ doodling!
I think she just wants to make sure that there
is enough Aimee to go around!
Aimee is just a sweet, sweet sister who has a
truly adorable scrap subject in her daughter!
You can definitely see how many sides there are
to her daughter by Aimee’s perfectly-chosen
choices of color. Like personality on a page!
Congratulations, Aimee; enjoy your stay and we
hope to see lots MORE of you in the future!

Design Note:
I loved this picture of my daughter but the
colors weren’t what I was envisioning for
this layout. When I had my photos
developed, I made sure to print this in
sepia tone - I love that look! I used
another sheet of patterned paper as a
template for the dotted paper, sliced up the
wording from another paper, and inked all
the edges.

You were Born An ORIGINAL by Aimee Matteucci.
Supplies:
Paper: KI Memories; Rub-ons: Making
Memories, Ribbon: Walmart, Fancy Pants;
Adhesive: Duck, Clear letters: my own
design; Clear flowers: Heidi Swapp, Glitter:
Ranger, Jewel brads: Joann, Ink: Clearsnap.
Editor’s Note:
The rounded corners really give it a
one-photo look, and the half-way
border and title give the rest some serious
dimension. Next time you’re inspired to use
more than just one photograph on a layout,
try clustering or attaching pictures
together.
Design
notes:
I used some plastic packaging for my clear
letters: letter templates to trace &
cut, then I added Stickles paint. Most of
my layouts have multiple pictures & I enjoy
finding different ways to show a lot of
photos but also to let the paper shine. |
Wherever you go… Go with all your heart
by Aimee Matteucci. Supplies:
Paper: BasicGrey - Phoebe, My Mind’s
Eye, Pens: Sharpie, Adhesive: Duck, Ink:
Clearsnap.
Editor’s Note:
Aimee’s offset orange frames give this
multi-photo page a fun color-blocked look.
Looking for not just dimension, but for
depth on a page? Try matting photographs,
matting and layering letters, adding raised
frames and inking edges of paper
embellishments.
Design notes:
I had this quote (from Confucius) saved for
a while, knowing I’d have some good pictures
sometime to use with it. These
pictures are of my daughter on our annual
Fourth of July float trip. She had a blast,
because we let her get as wet as she wanted!

Design Note:
I hand cut the heart shape. The stamps
were lightly inked with white ink, then
traced over with a white pen so the images
look hand-drawn. The picture is not the
best (my daughter’s eyes were closed) but I
really wanted to use this. We’d gone on a
fossil-hunting field trip and she was having
a blast hanging out with her dad.

About the Designer
I'm from Wasilla, Alaska and have been
scrapbooking since my daughter was a year old.
She's going to be twelve this summer and I'm
still passionate about scrapping!
I'm married to my high school sweetheart and I
work during the school year, so I'm able to stay
home during the summer. We have a dog (Socks is
a boxer), and between the dog and my daughter,
they provide me with tons of fun pictures to
play with.
Before I started scrapping, I used to dabble in
other crafts, but not any more. This art has
totally taken over my creativity and I wouldn't
have it any other way. A big thank you to
ScrapStreet Magazine for asking me to show off
my work! This is such a boost to my little
scrapping ego! |
