“Second star to the right, and straight on 'till morning.”
Our ancestors used them as road maps and children dream of being among them in space. Since we were children we’ve been encouraged to dream on stars, wish on stars and reach for the stars. I love stars. They are my favorite shape because they hold so many different meanings. Here are just some examples of all the various uses and meanings of stars. We have a beloved fur-friend named Star, a child making their first birthday wish and a miracle baby who is heaven sent.

Journaling:
There is still snow on the
ground and ice on the lake, yet you insist
on dipping the toes, wetting the whistle and
plopping down in for a nice swim. April 19th

First Wish by Diana Brodeur. Supplies:
Paper: Prima, Bazzill, Flower: Prima, Stars: Tim Holtz Grungeboard, Scenic Route, Letters: American Crafts, Brads: Making Memories, Amanda Blu, Gems: Marcella by K, Prima, Ink:
Clearsnap, Pen: Sakura, Other: glitter glue.
Journaling:
You looked like such a big
girl at your 3rd birthday this year! You
blew out all of your candles by yourself for
the 1st time. You even got to make your very
first wish! I'm not sure if you made a wish
or not, but I do know that you will have
many more wishes in the future. All of them
might not come true right away or ever, but
never lose hope! Always live for today and
strive to achieve your goals, dreams, hopes,
and aspirations for they are out
there...waiting for you to find them. 4-8-08
Design note:
I hand drew and cut out the swoosh from the patterned paper to signify the wish my daughter was making as she blew out her candles. I also cut out strips of striped paper to accent the flow of the swoosh.

Design note:
I used the red buttons to make the picture really stand out and create movement toward the photo.

Journaling:
You are a miracle sent from up above. You are here to show that miracles do
happen. Three years ago you joined our family and proved the doctors wrong. You were so ill when you arrived into this world. You make us all smile and you are just so precious. Lots of Love Auntie Beckie xxx
