On our Cover

 Michelle Boeckermann

This month's cover is from our new staff member and the winner of our Star Contest. Brianne did a beautiful, heartfelt layout about her son. Her journaling brings joy to the reader and holds onto a memory that is so special for her family. What really draws my attention is her photographs. The foot is there popping off the page, then two others that wrap the subject up visually. Now let's brag about the title, the right font can be a mood setter, and this title's different fonts completes the whole tone of the layout.

She won our contest, and this layout stays in our minds as the best of the best. Congratulations Brianne!!!

Brianne will receive a prize for winning our cover this month. If you would like to submit a layout for cover, please email your 500x500 image to submissions@scrapstreet.com.

You could be our next cover winner! Best of Luck!

Design note: I covered the large chipboard star with some of the patterned paper but it just didn't look right sitting on top of the cardstock, so I added an additional piece of patterned paper behind it to journal on. With handwritten journaling, you never know exactly where you are going to end up with space (and as you can see, I had extra) so I filled up the negative space with buttons.

Forever Neverland by Brianne Nevill. Supplies: Paper: Prima, Doodlebug, Making Memories Cardstock: Bazill, Ink: Clearsnap, Font: Beyond Wonderland, Book Antiqua, Stickers: American Crafts, Rub-ons: Doodlebug, Pen: Zig, Other: buttons.

Subtitle: "Second star to the right, and straight on 'til morning..."-Peter Pan on directions to Neverland.

Journaling:  Footie pajamas have been one of my favorite things about being a Mommy. I know it sounds incredibly silly, but you just look so cute in them! It's hard to say goodbye to a part of your childhood so soon. You constantly unzip and wiggle out of them and promptly request sweatpants and a shirt. You are learning so fast, Matthew. Everyday I see the thoughtful dreamer come out and you just floor me with your ideas and comments. I wish we could stay forever in Neverland, but alas, my dear "Peter", you will have to grow up someday.
