Take Five

 Michelle Boeckermann

Take it to the basket, those 5 items you need to do one single layout. What catches your eye? Do you think it’s easy to just have 5 packages? Have you ever walked out of a shopping trip to the LSS with only 5 items? That was our Kit Club challenge this month. Simple for some, not so simple for many we found out. How do you feel creatively with a stipulation that "limits" you? How do you think you would use those items to also fulfill your need to produce your style? Take a minute and see how each chose those items to make their pages pop, focus, and tell the story.

Design note: I created a “vellum-like” layer on my photo to reduce the effect of the EPT box in the background. Using a close-up of my perfume bottle also helped that effect. Sticking to ONLY five products made this layout VERY tough for me, but it was well worth the effort.

Take 5: one sheet of paper, one package of felt, buttons, lace and pen.

Think Pink by Brianne Nevill. Supplies: Paper: SEI, Felt: Fancy Pants, Stickers: Doodlebug, Buttons: Favorite Findings, Lace: Scarlet Lime, Pen: Uni-ball.

Journaling: It’s scary to think that at this time next month we could be finding out that we are pregnant again. The decision to try for another child has been a long time coming and to finally make it concrete feels… right. I know that it may take a while, and we may not be as lucky as we were with Matthew, but that’s ok. God will make things happen when the time is right and I fully trust His plans. Don’t tell my husband but I am secretly "Thinking Pink".

Design note:: : I had a difficult time choosing just one photo to scrap, so I opted for a strip of my favorites. I wanted to include the colors from the photos with a little pink because we are having a girl baby. I dug through my stash and found the BasicGrey to be a perfect match! I hand cut the hearts from the patterned paper and inked everything to make it stand out more. I added the bling for a little extra girly touch. I love how it turned out.

Photo Shoot by Jenn Keefer. Supplies: Paper: BasicGrey, Cardstock: Bazzill, Alpha Stickers: BasicGrey, Bling: Heidi Swapp, Ink: Clearsnap.

Take 5: Excluding photos and the pen my five items are: Cardstock, Patterned Paper (1 sheet), Alpha Stickers, Bling, Ink .

Design note: When I first signed up I thought this would be easy to do. Needless to say when I sat down to do it I found it extremely difficult. Why? Using just five elements made me feel like the page was too plain. Guess I am getting used to using a variety of elements now. It was still fun but was definitely challenging.

Take 5: One patterned paper, two sheets cardstock, vellum stickers, Alpha stickers.

The Only Way by Heather Casper. Supplies: Paper: Sandylion, Cardstock: Die Cuts with a View, Vellum Stickers: EK Success, Alpha Stickers: Colorbok.
