Show Me Your
Colors Janneke Smit

This article started based on the idea of preserving my website design for future generations, but the more I looked at the submissions, the more I realized that there is hardly any difference between creating an “about me” layout and designing an “about me” website. Many times I wondered what was designed first; the website or the layout? But it does not matter. Just like your “about me” layout, your blog shows a bit of who you are, what your likes and dislikes are and what you do during this period of your life. You use your favorite colors and style for both your website design and your scrapbook page.
Next time when you want to change the look of your blog, be inspired by one of
your favorite scrapbook pages. Or the other
way around: scraplift your website design for an “about me” page. You do not have to go far for inspiration; take a look at what you already have. It is all about you and it is all good.
Beckie chose patterned papers in her favorite colors and used these for her blog header as well as a scrapbook page about her. She also used part of the tile of her blog - Live is Short ….. Live it – on her layout.
Mariska created a scrapbook page about herself first and then used part of the layouts as her blog header to emphasizes the title of her blog - My scrappin’ point of view.
Dora used spring colors she would love to see outside right now for her blog – Dora’s Days – as well as on her layout.

Design note:
Having lived in Ireland, Rusty Pickles Lucky Papers really appealed to me. I am also a big fan of the beach and the sea. I choose to use these colors for my blog as they felt fresh and gave me a sense of water and freedom! I was fortunate enough to be sent the lucky papers digitally so I decided to use them for my blog banner.

note:
On my 14th birthday I got my first own camera and a lot of pictures have been taken since then. A wonderful hobby and great to put it all together in scrapbooking. I always have my camera with me because you never know what beautiful, unexpected pictures you can make. The poem is printed on a transparency and used as an overlay. The "nature" looking paper combined so well with this subject and picture and is my favorite brand of paper. |

Design note:
I love color! My moods change and my scrapping changes because of what colors I am surround with at the time. I keep my scrapping room very neutral so I can hang up new inspiration colors all of the time. Even though I have only had my blog a couple of weeks, it has already undergone a color change, too. Right now I am all about the bold colors of spring: turquoise, orange, green, yellow. Both my blog and my scrapping show how desperate I am to see these colors outside my window.
