Nice Catch! Stacey Michaud
|
 |
June’s warm weather and the close of school bring family and friends outdoors in a hurry! Driving around town, you’ll see people of all ages engaging in anything from a friendly game of catch to playing in a competitive baseball match. Baseball is affectionately known as “The Nation’s Pastime”, a term that originated during the American Civil War. With over 30 million kids involved in some form of organized sports, chances are that someone you know will be on a T-ball, Little League or high school team. Grab your camera and catch that perfect shot to create memorable baseball layouts!
Will you choose to focus on the individual athlete? Be sure to use a photo of your MVP in uniform. To enhance your design, include circular shapes to represent baseballs and incorporate the team colors. Then make that layout uniquely yours. Nicole captured her son’s personality by focusing on a humorous moment, not-so-related to actually playing baseball. Keely’s bright layout and journaling emphasize her son’s baseball skills as well as his approach to the game. Gail used a striking oversized photo to record one of her son’s baseball seasons and the friends he made during it.

Who Needs Baseballs When You've Got Dandelions? by Nicole Marshall.
Digital Supplies: Modernity Black Grid
paper by
Paislee Press, Gridlock paper by
Lauren Reid
, Staples: Paislee Southern Comfort, Stitching Holes: Katie Pertiet, Capture Frame: lriordon.
Journaling:
Ok, so you really love
playing ball. You just haven’t quite
incorporated the ball into it yet.
Editor’s
notes:
When using an 8.5 X11 page
layout, change the orientation from the
commonly used portrait setting to landscape
to add interest. A clean design puts the
focus directly on the adorable photo.
|

Design
note:
I love to use everyday objects on my layouts and I used packaging cardboard to accent my all-boy layout. I think doodling can add that extra something to any layout and my white Sakura pen is one of my favs. I doodled around the layouts, accents, and on the diecuts.

used a lot of blending on this one to
achieve the graphic effect.

Slugger by Gail Simpson. Digital Supplies:
Slugger Page Kit by Kim Liddiard at Digital Scrapbook Place, Font: Arial.
Journaling:
Alex played baseball from
the time he was eight until he was thirteen.
He loved to play, and many of his team mates
became very good friends that he played with
off the sandlot. I think this year was one
of his favorite seasons. He had a great
summer!
