Digital Discovery

 Lindsey Krauss

Ready for the next installment of ScrapStreet’s Digital Discovery? I’d say, this month, ‘next installment’ is what it’s all about! Wait – hold that thought – come on in, make yourself comfortable, and get ready to meet our new friend, Khei de Dios!

All the way from the Philippines, Khei is gracing us with her beautiful and colorful pages. Khei certainly has a talent for scrapping the details – from weddings to kids – but it’s not just about the details in the layout… it’s apparent that Khei pays very close attention to the details on the layout! Using frames, borders and beautiful swirling accents, she skillfully emphasizes her subject with perfectly chosen digital embellishment. Fun and colorful, detailed and perfectly installed… oh, yeah! Congratulations, Khei, not only for being our Digital Discovery, but we wish you the absolute best for your next installment due at the end of the year! Can’t wait to hear all the details!

Design Note: I used multiple photos of my friend Clarisse and used her wedding colors (chocolate brown and pink) in my design.

Here Comes the Bride by Khei de Dios. Supplies: Soft Whisper Kit by Joanna Cinnamon.

Journaling: Here comes the bride.

All In the Details by Khei de Dios. Supplies: Vintage Artistry: paper (by Dani) and corner twisty (by Carrie), Scrapbook Bytes, Adobe Photoshop 7, Ornate shaker box.

Design notes: These are pictures of my friend's wedding details. Her gown, bouquet, souvenirs, their wedding rings and the unity candles I made for them. I decided to make a simple layout so the photos will show and not be focused on other embellishments. Techniques: Drop Shadow for the small frames and cropping it to circles. I used the photo of the gown on the larger part of the layout. I cropped the other detail photos into circles and added the frame then drop shadowed it. I added a title and a swirl as photo corner.

Remember This by Khei de Dios. Supplies: Festival Kit by Shabby Princess.

Journaling: It's not just a ring. For me, whether it's expensive or not, it's the promise that this ring symbolizes that counts. ENGAGED! Finally! After a baby and almost seven years in the relationship I thought this day will never come. But it did. It's my most valuable treasure.

Editor’s notes: Don’t sweat the small stuff, but don’t forget it either! Sometimes it’s the details that create the memory. It’s not always as obvious as an engagement ring, either; be sure to pay attention to the tiniest of details around you, snap a photo and make it a page next time.

Design Note: I wanted to make a layout that captures my son's unique features. I made layers of the photo and added minimal embellishments.

In his Image and Likeness by Khei de Dios. Supplies: Sunporch Kit by  Shabby Princess, Old Scrabble Tiles by  Lauren Davin.

Journaling: You are so like your father Andrei. With your coffee brown eyes and darling dimples. A perfect image of him. You remind me so much of him... and I love you more because of that.

About the Designer

Hi I'm Khei from the Philippines. I'm 23 years old, engaged to my 7 year boyfriend Chris. We have a 4-year-old son named Andrei and we're expecting another one in December. I love paper scrapping but I think I'm better in digital. My favorite subjects are my son, my friend's wedding and her daughter, and soon, my new baby. I started full time scrapping just last year and I must say I'm enjoying it so much. It's my de-stressor for a very tiring day. You can view some of my works at www.scrappykhei.blogspot.com (sorry it's not updated yet because of my condition).
