The designers took shape with the Crafter’s
Workshop templates this month. For many of us this was our first time working with these amazing templates. Our designers were thrilled by all the possibilities each template offered. Crafter's Workshop templates offer placement ideas, shapes you could trace and cut, and doodling! I am surprised by how well thought out these templates are and wanted to learn more about the owners of the company.
Ted and Jaime founded
Crafter's Workshop in 1999 with a small group of lettering templates in a 1-inch format. With Jaime as the designer, they widened to a fairly modest line of lettering styles.
Crafter's Workshop found a “niche” in the market in 2005 when they launched a small line of doodling templates. The response to the doodling templates was a huge success. The success continued and they introduced several more lines of doodling templates at
the winter Craft and Hobby Association
meeting that same year and were thrilled by the sales and popularity of the templates.

Design note: I
had so much fun playing with paint! I
always love the look of paint, but hate to
make a mistake so I usually avoid it.
With these fabulous stencils, there are no
mistakes! Template used: Arrows.
Journaling:
We pulled into Aunt Katy's yard and your
eyes lit right up the second they spied the
brand new trampoline. You raced over,
climbed on, and began to fly. Higher
and higher you soared. Pretty soon all
the other kids were out taking turns with
you. Your enthusiasm is just so
infectious!

Design
note:
I used the Circle Circle Dot Dot template
for this project. It has a wonderful 12 inch
half circle of the dots and flowers. I inked
the design from the template and used my souffle pens to color in the different areas
to add a bit of fun color bits that help
balance out all the embellishments i have on
the other half of the layout.

Design note:
There are so many ways to use this templates, I almost did not
know where to start. Since the papers on the page were busy and colorful, I
chose a very simple way to use the templates: doodling. I simply traced with
a pen and filled in with a marker for some easy but striking page accents.
Templates used: 110 Diamonds and 93 Regal Flourish.
