Fiery Passions

  Terry McAuliffe

Red is the color for July. The color red means quite a lot of different things. Red is mainly associated with passion and anger, energy and blood, courage and sacrifice. It is the standard color of warning. And most commonly, red is known as the color of love. When used with contrasting colors, red can really make a layout pop! In Libbey’s layout the touch of rustic red adds a certain cowboy feel. In Carol’s “Art” layout, the red frame really highlights and accents the colors used by her little artist. And “Master Blaster” by Sonia is all about the warning! Hold on to your hats!

Editor's note:

I love the way Libby used the 6x12 format. She captured the innocence of a little boy playing cowboys and Indians. The slightly distressed look of the papers add that special rustic feel.

Little Buckaroo by Libby Mac Neilly. Supplies: Paper: Rusty Pickle, Cardstock: Bazzill, Stamps, Chipboard: Rusty Pickle, Ink: Stewart Superior, Paint: Folk Art, Other: Quickcutz Journal Font.

Design note:

I used a paper towel to paint my chipboard accent and the red cardstock used to mat the photos. I used the stencils chipboard alphas on my pattern paper to make my title "pop".
