Happy July!

I confess, this is my favorite month.  It has absolutely everything that screams FUN to me all in one tidy package.  First up is my favorite holiday.  I know, some of you are saying, but Christmas is not really in July, Dora.  My fave is the 4th of July -- I adore a holiday that has a powerful meaning, but is permitted to be simple and low-key.  Every year, with a few neighbors, we put on a bike parade and penny carnival for the kids.  After that, we have a bit of backyard BBQ fun, and to round off the night, we wander over to watch the fireworks put on by our town.  No months of shopping or intensive baking--just good, old-fashioned fun with friends and family.

The middle of the month brings scrapping friends to my door--or Hotel Dora as it is affectionately called--for the summer Craft and Hobby Association show.  My gal pals fly, drive, or hop a train to get into Chicago to see all of the yummy goodies the scrapbooking manufacturers have in store for us.  We get a chance to hug in person, have a cocktail or two, sit, chat, and connect with each other.  An absolutely good time!

The end of the month rounds out with my children's birthday celebration.  The family gathers together and parties with my little angels (6 and 9 this year) with presents, cake, and some backyard games.  It is an excellent end to my favorite month.  I may not have a lot of scrapping time in July, but I take enough pictures to last me all year long!

Are you ready to dive into the joy that is July?  Join me!

Editor's Note:  Have you checked out the fabulous templates by Crafter's Workshop?  I fell in love with them this month and used them with paint, chalk, markers, and paper like the layout above.  They are versatile and fun!  For more ideas, peek at our Showroom.
