Introducing Lena

Janneke Smit

During the month of November, the Streets were all about the Digital Design Contest. For four weeks the contestants were challenged to create their best designs and work with the other contestants’ designs as well. All the talent made it difficult to judge the design work and the results were very close.

But there can only be one winner! We are thrilled to announce that Lena Gulbrandsen - Lenas Scrap Design - is the big winner and she will be joining the Digital Design Team! Congratulations Lena!

Lena’s work is beautiful and well-designed with attention to details, and she has a knack of creating kits that you will use over and over again. Take a look at this completely new kit Lena designed after the contest, called Old Traditions – “for a new start” she mentioned. We are certain this is the start of wonderful team work!

Warm, traditional old world colors with worn textures and subtle patterns.  Take a peek at all the little touches perfect for your family layouts.

Design notes: The title alphas are cut out from notepaper using font Cooper STD.

Journaling: The wait for Christmas Eve is sometimes unbearably long for all of us. Some wait for the peace and quiet that will be in the house that very night, others just wait for Santa... While we all wait - let's just light our advent candles...

About the designer

I'm a 36 year old single mom to Emilie (4 years in the beginning of March). We live in a suburban area - Vallerud - right outside of Oslo, which is the capital of Norway. I've been digi scrapping for almost three years now, and I kind of started the addiction by accident... I friend of mine introduced me to editing pictures in Photoshop, and I was hooked on it right away! I think that digi scrapping is a great way to show off a lot of memories in just one page. I started doing it because of my daughter - I want her to have some great pages to look at when she gets older! And also because I didn't find the time to put ALL our pictures in albums when I finally got them developed "back then"... I have to admit that I've never ever tried paper scrapping - I'm true to the world of digital fun!

However, I've just recently started designing my own designs. I started right before Christmas a year ago. I think I got my first designs out in the shop at WeDoScrap (now ScrapScandiStyle) in December last year. I actually remember it was a gingerbread kit! *LOL* My inspiration for designing might be a lot of things... It might be something my daughter is playing with or maybe a dress she's wearing, a beautiful flower, different color combinations, nice wallpaper, blogs... I never know what I'll end up with when I design a kit! That's what’s so fun about it! I usually start out with the colors I want, and work from there. I do my designing right in my living room, usually after my daughter has gone to bed. I wish I had more time to scrap and design, that's something I really would like to do. I've got my designs in four shops now - and I'm very happy about that!
