Make It Move

 

Ready to add a bit of action to your action shot? 

 

Here is my photo:

 

 

Select the Lasso tool, and roughly outline the object you wish to add motion to:

 

 

Copy and paste your selection into a new layer.  You will have one layer of the background with the object and one of just the object itself.  Select the original layer containing the entire image and go to Filter > Blur > Motion Blur and use the following settings:

 

 

 

Select a large soft eraser and activate the top cut out layer.  Carefully brush along the edges of your picture until you get the movement you are looking for.  Have some fun with it.

 

 

Select the layer containing the entire image, go to Enhance > Adjust Lighting > Brightness and Contrast and use brightness +6 and contrast+28.

 

 

 

Play around with the contrast a bit more if you like.  I added the same contrast to my cut out layer for a bit more pop.
