Grab A Marker

Ever know exactly what you want on a page, but know you are not going to find what is in your head?  Want to draw it, but you do not own a digital tablet?  You can still do it!  Follow these easy steps.

Grab a sheet of white cardstock and a black marker.  A ball point pen will not give you enough strength.  If you are nervous, pencil in first and then trace with your marker.   Scan it into your computer.  I will show you with just a word.

 

Use your magic eraser to remove the white background.  Then go to Enhance>Adjust Color>Hue/Saturation and slide the lightness all the way to dark.

 

It is really very simple, but can be fun.  You can scan in a stamp, a doodle, an ad (make sure not to try to sell something that is not yours) for your own personal use.  After you have the basics down, you can try all sorts of things.  Erase a bit, create a brush, layer items on top of one another.  The options are as vast as your imagination.  Here is another I did for this layout:
