Hybrid, make it your new resolution this year!

The New Year! I love it! Each New Year everyone starts afresh with high hopes of reaching goals and striving to better themselves. We do this in the form of New Year’s resolutions. I've been sharing tips, tricks and techniques for incorporating hybrid into your scrapbooking over the last few months so why not try some on your next page!

In October, I shared an article about transparencies and how you can make your own, at home with your computer and printer. This is by far one of my favorite hybrid techniques. Why? Well most of the time with pre-made transparencies there is always something that doesn't fit my layout, so more often than not I choose to make my own.

This layout by Eva shows that printing your own transparencies can really create a stunning and unique layout! Notice how the transparency design really stands out on this layout. The rub-ons and stamps really add a touch of elegance to the geometric pattern.

Design note: I made the circles on the transparency with Word, using the shape option to make a circle. Then just copy and paste with the same circle the whole page full and printed it on a laser printer. This transparency is the base of the layout.

Raven by Eva Blokker. Supplies: Transparency: Office Supply, Alpha Stickers: American Crafts, Journaling Stickers: 7 Gypsies, Label: Making Memories, Rub-ons: BasicGrey, Stamp: Autumn Leaves, Embossing powder: Victoria, Ink: Versamark, Pen: HEMA.

So for the new year make hybrid your resolution! Include your computer in your goal of trying new techniques, it really isn't anything to be feared. Whether you add digital frames to your photos, print off digital elements or just computer journal, hybrid really is the choice for the New Year, New You!
