Winter Scrap-a-Ganza (Part 2)

After taking the Jen class we had a little time to have some more coffee.  One of the things I love so much about the Scrap-A-Ganza is the large shopping area. A big big hall filled with yummy scrap goods.

So Eva and I decided to skip the coffee and run around in the shopping area. Apart from drooling over the newest goodies and spending WAY too much money, it was also fun to see a few familiar faces. It’s also a time to meet (again) with online friends. This time I was going to meet my friend Yolanda for the first time. I looked forward to that a lot. I'd talked to her on boards and Yahoo!Groups for two years, but we never got to meet.

We met in the shopping area and then rushed to the room for the next class. Our next class was called “As Time Goes By” and was taught by Mandy Anderson. Mandy is a British published designer, and we got to design a clock. I never designed a clock before so I was really anxious for this opportunity.

I enjoyed sitting next to my scrap buddies so much too, it was such a great time. It almost made up for me not bringing a picture to the class and sitting there without something to do. In the “bring these materials list” we all got they said to bring a large photo for this class. I always find it hard to determine what photo to bring if I have no clue with which brand papers we are going to “play” . For me the brand, texture and color of paper are so significant for the pictures (or the other way around – some pictures just need a certain type of paper). I decided to go without a picture and just add it later at home.

Normally you are perfectly safe with these classes. You can never finish them in time so you can finish your project (including pictures) at home. With this class however... no way. Too bad. Mandy brought great stamps to play with however so I took the time to stamp a lot and bring it home for “later”, observe the class, get lots of inspiration, watch Mandy teach and chit chat with my friends. Mandy had a fun and vibrant personality and gave GREAT tips when it comes to altering clocks. I don’t think I could have done it without her tips. I hope you will be able to take a “Mandy class” some day.

See you next months for “Scrap-a-Ganza part 3.
