 Michelle McClung

I’ve been noticing that for the past few months that my scrapbooking projects are turning out mostly the same, partly due to design and partly because I keep buying similar supplies.  I’m stuck in a scrapping rut!  Seems that when I like something, then I tend to stick with it.

Reminds me of when I go out to eat.  I usually order the same things again and again.  The Cheesecake Factory has fifty different delicious cheesecakes and deserts, but I have only ever tasted one of them!  The Chocolate Mousse Cheesecake is my favorite and I see no need to try anything else.  Why take a chance on something new if you like what you already have?

This brings me back to scrapping.  In the ever-changing world of scrapbooking, I am seeing the need to try new things - new colors, new designs, and new embellishments - or risk being stagnant and outdated.  I will make a conscious effort to break out of my comfort zone and buy products I normally wouldn’t and create designs that are not my norm, hopefully to end the rut!

Break out of your creative comfort zone with me and reinvent yourself!  You may be pleasantly surprised by what you get!

Editor's note: Having four photos grouped together in this sketch is great for using them to tell a story, showing off different poses of a subject, get creative with one photo and change the colors or style in Photo Shop for an artsy look.

Four Picture Sketch by Michelle McClung.

Design note: I shortened the border lengths to give a column effect over the photo block.

All Boy by Janice Badger. Supplies: Digital Kit: True To Yourself by Krystal Hartley, Alphabet: Paint On Canvas by Mary Ann Wise, fotn: Century Gothic.

Editor's note: Make the design yours!  Instead of a flower embellishment on the bottom left corner of the photo group, Michelle used a train running on the railroad track that is her lower border.

Favorite Toys by Michelle McClung.  Supplies:  Paper, Rub-ons, Tag, Border: Crate Paper,  Stamp: Inque Boutique,  Glitter Glue: Ranger,  Word Stickers: Bo-Bunny, Simple Scrapbooks, Other: ribbon, brads.

Journaling: To you, it’s all about the cars!  To me, I see moments of building precious bonds with your sweet brother, and it fills my heart with happiness.
