Growing up as
a twin you learn to share, compromise, help, and
support another person at a very young age.
Thus it was for me with my twin brother as we
learned to share the spotlight, from birthdays
to graduations.
I was the
outgoing one while my twin brother was extremely
shy. I recall speaking up for him at a very
young age when he wanted to call one of his
friends on the telephone. He was terrified to
talk to an “adult” so I called and asked for his
friend and waited until he came to the phone
before handing the phone over. It wasn’t
something that I minded doing for him, it was
something that he just needed me to do… so I
did.
I often hear
of people talking about “twin intuition”… I
believe in this. There have been several times
that I have known that my brother needed my
help. It is usually just a feeling that
something isn’t quite right… and I will check in
with him to find out what is going on. It
amazes me every time that I am right and that we
still have that bond after all of these years.
I could go on
and on about my experiences of being a twin…but
I will not bore you will all of those details.
Instead I would like to talk about the “twin” in
scrapbooking… the “two-page layout”.

You are my Rockstar by Sara Noendeng
Supplies:
Paper: Bazzill, Kaiser, Chipboard: Heidi
Swapp, Felt: Kaiser Fozz.
Design note: Apply a grungy filter to your photos in Photoshop to give them a more masculine feel.
Journaling:
You are my rockstar for now and forever
baby. You provide me so much support and
treat me just like a princess even though
sometimes I may not deserve it. I couldn't
imagine that anyone else would look after me
the way you have and always will. I am so
blessed to have you as a part of my life and
will always love you.

The Magic of your face by Stacey Michaud
Supplies:
Paper: Bazzill, Junkitz, Buttons: Autumn
Leaves, Chipboard: Basic Grey, K & Company,
American Crafts, Clip: Making Memories,
Flowers: K & Company, Glitter: Ranger, Ink:
Versamark, Ranger, Rubber Stamp: Fancy
Pants.
Design note: I used one of the actual buttons from my daughter's coat as an embellishment. To create a repeated element, I cut out the "stems" from patterns in the paper. I mimicked the swirl in the patterned paper by using a similar stamp. I covered the title letters with glitter to make them appear magical.
Journaling:
Let me start by saying that I love
everything about you. But one of my favorite
things is that beautiful face. You have a
smile that just lights up the room and
certainly melts my heart. It is so hard for
me to hold onto a serious look when you make
those goofy expressions. You know that you
are cute and can turn on the funny faces,
the quivering lip or the attitude depending
on which fits the
situation best. I love your top lip, full
cheeks and those huge, brown "meatball" eyes
that remind me so much of your father. With
every expression, we connect and I truly
believe in magic.
