All About
Blue Christa Parker
|
 |
I chuckled to myself when I found out I had to write an article on "Blue".
What on earth do you say about "Blue"? I even went to Webster for
inspiration! To my surprise there is actually a lot written about "blue".
Blue denotes: the color pigment between green and violet, melancholy,
gloomy, nobility, risqué, and in contrast rigid morals.
The French say "Bleu", the Germans "Blau", the Portuguese "Azul" (my
personal favorite), the Italians say "Azzurro", the Turkish "Mavi".
There are rivers, mountain ranges, cities and music named for blue. One
only needs to look at the beautiful sky or ocean to appreciate this
phenomenal color. We are drawn to use blue in our art because it softens
our world. Blue gives us harmony, peace and tranquility. Blue brings
balance to the more vibrant times of our life.
See what our friends have done to highlight "Blue" in their layouts.

Design
note:
This layout literally took all of 15 minutes to complete. I aligned my photos with the transparency, used glue dots to hold everything in place, and
presto!

Paper: BasicGrey, Transparency: Creative
Imaginations, Other: Glue Dots.

Design
note:
I cropped the photo of my ring into an oval and feathered it so that it fades into the sparkly white background, eliminating the stark white background of the original photo.

Design
note:
I freehand cut the curved
shapes. To draw the eye to the photo, and to
add a visual punch to an otherwise
monochromatic palette, I added a bit of
unexpected color with the bright red flower.
