April already... I hope spring has finally
begun to show its face where you live. Is
the sky bluer, leaves appearing on the
trees, little flowers peeping out?
Definitely where I live, though, April is
always a mixed month, so I won’t put my
umbrella away just yet! This month's kit
from ScrapStreet is overflowing with rainbow
colors, soft and muted to herald the
blossoms soon to appear. Let’s see what our
team have been up to with this... from
weddings to sweet treats!

Design
note:
I wanted this layout to focus on the moment
the photo was taken, so I used all white
pattern papers and just the hint of solid
green which was one of the wedding colors.
The addition of the black flourishes gives
that elegance associated with weddings.
Having all the kids with their uncle on the
day of his wedding was priceless.

Editor’s Notes:
Look how the deco has been enlarged and made
almost transparent. It gives great focus to
the little hand reaching for the butterfly. |

Design
note:
To achieve
this effect on the picture I duplicated the
photo and for the bottom copy changed the
blending mode to Luminosity at 100%. To
keep the color, I left the top copy in
normal blend mode, but lowered the opacity
to 43% which gave me the effect I wanted for
this layout.
