Scrap–a–Licious weekend, Part 1:
Meeting Celine Navarro

I admired my friend Corinne Delis for a long long time. She has got an awesome scrap style and an awesome personality. I have enjoyed her friendship for a while now. We went together to the Scrap-a-Ganza, we met on numerous other events, she came to visit me when my son was born,
and we went to crops together, but I never had the pleasure to take a workshop she was teaching. We tried to make appointments for scrapping in her studio but after
two years, still no luck.
When she mailed me with the news that she was organizing a scrap weekend with no one less then Celine Navarro, I booked without hesitation.
This would be an awesome opportunity to enjoy classes of these divas!
It was a long time waiting from November (when I booked) till March but it sure was worth it.
I booked only Saturday and that Saturday it was International Women's
Day.
Now for me, that’s the perfect day to go to a scrapbooking event and spend the day with a lot of wonderful women sharing the same hobby.
The day started early for me.. catching my train at 7 o’clock on
one of my rare days off isn’t really my hobby, but it was for a good cause.
The weekend was held in Utrecht which is pretty central in the Netherlands but the railways were having a problem which meant I had to travel a bit by train, take a bus to the next train station and then continue my journey by train.
Let me tell you a cropper hopper is a fantastic thing but NOT when you have to take a small touring car. I had to lift that thing (that was WAY overpacked) over the heads of the other people to get to the back of the bus.
The train ride was pretty pleasant. I had my new magazines –scrap magazines of course- and the opportunity to prepare some more for the workshops.
On the train, I spotted a girl with a beautiful K&Company bag which made me believe we were going to the same event.
We chatted for a while and found our way to the hotel together. While walking we met a lot more ladies with scrapbooking bags, so it was a small parade.
When we arrived, there were a lot of women already there and we stood chatting outside for a while.
I met a few that I only knew online… so weird when you talk to people that you chat to a lot and then in real life you don’t even recognize them.
I didn’t recognize Celine at first. Wondered were she was from when I suddenly realized who I was talking to.
That was a big blonde moment.
The classes were held upstairs in a beautiful classroom and there was also a shop. Pretty cool to see all the new goodies and of course I couldn’t control myself. Had to grab some stuff before the classes started.
I was especially looking forward to Celine’s classes because the lady’s scrapbooking is more like Art (with a capital A) to me.
I so wanted to learn some great tips and tricks. Celine designs for Prima Marketing, Rouge de Garance, American Crafts and SIStv.
We made a beautiful colorful layout.
The fun technique was to take a busy piece of patterned paper and cover it with tape. Not the regular tape but paper tape.
After covering the inner part of the patterned paper we painted it and wiped away access paint with a wet cloth/ baby wipes.
I used some pictures on this layout that Corinne took on our last crop together. It seemed a fun thing to do on this “Corinne-weekend” and they matched with the paper really well.
I loved doing this layout about me. Using multiple pictures, a lot of layering and hand sewing.

when you want to see more of Corinne you can also check out her blog

See you next month for part two of the Scrap-a-Licious weekend.
