Happy April! Though I seem to be having a few problems convincing the northern gals that it’s officially spring time, spring has definitely sprung here in Alabama. And I hope you’re at least getting a little taste of it where you are.
But before we jump head-first into April…let’s see what happened in March:
Brianne was our bingo winner for March and should be receiving her loot later on this week. This month is “anything goes”…everyone sends in ten random words…which makes me curious (and a bit frightened) at some of the words I’ll be “calling”, but it’s sure to be fun. Bingo starts today so if you haven’t sent in your words yet…there might still be time. If you miss it, check out the Arcade toward the end of the month for your chance to play next time.
We headed to India last month for our weekend crop and celebrated the Holi Festival of Colors. LOVED seeing what everyone did with the challenges. CJen and Christa were our game winners and Katie was the overall crop winner…congrats, girls! This month we’ll be visiting Mt. Everest and celebrating nature and Mother Earth. Crop begins Friday, April 25th…make plans to come and play with us.
Can’t wait ‘til then? Well don’t worry…we’ve got you covered! Stop in the Town Square every Saturday and check out our Saturday Night Scrap. With challenges, sketches and inspirational ideas, there is sure to be something to keep you busy. Plus…don’t forget to check out our latest SNS addition…digi freebies from Spink. Soooo cool…you definitely don’t want to miss it.
Need some parenting advice? Got some to share? Next time you’re Uptown, be sure to stop in “The Mall” and check out the newest hot spot—The Mom Lab. Children may not come with instruction manuals…but the Mom Lab is the next best thing.

Time for Jakey's
Corner:
Hiya, girls! It’s getting warm here and I really like it ‘cause Aunt Woey and I have been working outside a lot. I’m a big help to her. Like the other day…I jumped on the trampoline and pointed to the tree branches I thought she should cut…lot better view from up there. And I brought a bunch of sticks inside the house so they wouldn’t be cluttering up the yard. And I chased the cat around so she didn’t get in Aunt Woey’s way. But she’s a bit overprotective. She wouldn’t let me sit in the pretty ivy

‘cause she said it was POISONOUS. She wouldn’t let me catch the pretty bumblebees. She wouldn’t let me play in the pile of dirt ‘cause she said it was the ants’ house and THEN she wouldn’t even let me knock on their house to see if they were home. Geesh!
And while we’re talking ‘bout Aunt Woey…there IS something I’d like to discuss with you girls. I know she likes playing with you on the ‘puter. And I like it too. BUT…every time I want to go play outside or want something to eat or want some juice or want a new movie put in to watch…she always says the SAME thing…”just a minute”. Now…I can’t tell time so I’m not exactly sure how long a minute IS…but it sure SEEMS like a long time. She just sits there and pushes more and more buttons on that ‘puter and it takes FOREVER to get her up outta that chair. So can you girls start sending her away sometimes? I would really appreciate it. Between Scrapstreet and Webkinz, a guy could STARVE around here!
I better go now. I hear Molly scratching at the door to come in and Aunt Woey told her “just a minute”. I better go let her in ‘cause a minute is a long, LONG time.
Bye-bye!!
Some things we learned in March:
1. Texans can get “thundersnow”.
2. Spring forward makes for grumpy mornings.
3. Turn the power off before you attempt to fix your oven.
4. On second thought…DON’T attempt to fix your oven.
5. If you want to take pics of your local store’s produce…make sure to get security clearance first.
6. Dora’s not the only one going to the gym in her neighborhood…I hear the squirrels are power-lifting now too.
7. We LOVE the chicken blinkie.
8. Flashing back to the 70’s and 80’s is so much fun!
9. Seeing your friends’ pics from high school/college is even MORE fun!
10. You MIGHT wanna remember to knock before entering your neighbor’s house. But then again…maybe not…heehee.
That about does it for our March recap. Now get over to the boards and give me something to talk about for next time. ‘Til then…cya on the streets!
