Chic Street

Jen Wuthrich

A recent quest for a Boy Scout merit badge for our 9-year-old gave our family just the push we needed to go green and become more aware of our environment.  The short of it is that our family is now recycling.

I have to admit, I was somewhat in the dark when it came to recycling and how to do it so I was really pleased when I discovered how easy it was in our area.  I simply had to call my local waste management service and they sent out some collection receptacles.  We then collect the items that qualify for recycling and place them out with the trash on collection day.  Honestly, it is just that simple.

I was also surprised about just how many things you can recycle.  From plastics and bottles to newspaper and cereal boxes, it’s amazing to me just how much recycling we are doing around our house.  And in our scrapbooking...

Design note:

I thought the bubble wrap was a fun medium for the brads and helped pop them out on the layout.

My Happy Munchkin by Michelle Boeckermann. Supplies: Paper: Sweetwater, Cardstock: Bazzill, Stickers: Sweetwater, SandyLion, Brads: Queen and Co., Chipboard: Maya Road, Other: bubble wrap, ink.

Journaling: My munchkins first wedding. Grandma made your cute vest and tie of course it was hot out and we had to strip you down to just the vest. You were so good and had so much fun playing with your cousins. Glenn and Janelle's Wedding.

Design note:

I used sandpaper on the photo to distress the corners and blend better with the soft colors of the layout.

Sweet Little Sunshine by Chimene Vink.  Supplies: Paint: Delta, Other: paper, flowers, bubble wrap, swirls, heart.

Design note:

I wanted to draw attention to the cute photo in the middle of my design, so I matted it with bubble wrap! This layout was actually very simple... all of the borders you see are part of the patterned paper!

Automatic Giggles Ahead by Laura Fiore. Supplies: Paper: ScrapInStyle, Buttons: Color It, Journaling Tag: Luxe, Chipboard Alphas: American Craft, Rub-Ons: KI Memories, Pen: Sakura, Other: bubble wrap.

Journaling: When this little cutie is around, the laughs are inevitable. She's ornery, feisty, loud and completely fun! Amber, July 2007
