Pixel Place

Katey Green

Are the nights beginning to draw in earlier where you are?  The trees starting to turn into glorious shades of red, orange and yellow?  That hint of autumn in the air, with smells of wood smoke, apples and damp earth?  Perhaps your thoughts are turning to Halloween and treats and costumes?

Whatever your scrapping moods are this month, we have a fun little kit for you from Handmaid Designs called Fall Frolics.   Let’s see what the ScrapStreet crowd came up with  . . . .

First, we check in with a new team member, Helen, and admire her beautiful layout.  We are thrilled to have such a talented designer joining us!  Keep an eye on next month's Pixel Place to meet more new members of our design and creative teams.

Design note:

I really enjoyed the colors of this kit and while we do not celebrate Halloween,
found the perfect word art for the kit and this picture of my husband and daughter.

Design note:

Usually I start my layouts with choosing which photos I want to use, but when I looked through the Fall Frolic kit I saw this beautiful tree and used that as my starting point to frame this adorable photo of my daughter.

Design note:

Turn that tree sideways and you get a leafy branch hanging over your pictures.

I Love Fall by Janice Badger. Supplies: Digital Kit: Fall Frolics by Handmaid Designs for ScrapStreet.com, Torn paper template: Playing With Paper by Traci Murphy Designs, Fonts: Cry Kitty, Tempus Sans ITC.

Poem (author unknown): I love fall! Fall is exciting.  It's apples and cider. It's an airborne spider. It's pumpkins in bins. It's burrs on dog's chins. It's wind blowing leaves. It's chilly red knees. It's nuts on the ground. It's a crisp dry sound. It's green leaves turning And the smell of them burning. It's clouds in the sky. It's fall. That's why... I Love Fall!
