Discovery’s Drive’s driving a bit off-road this
season! Welcome Cindy Stevens, a designer coming
to us from Canada. Perhaps ‘off road’ isn’t
really the word here; maybe ‘off the page’ is a
better statement! Cindy’s designs catch the eye,
and then keep it going! Notice in her design
concepts, it looks like her pages are never
ending. Perhaps adorned with side-laying
borders, a perfectly cut and off-centered
artisan paper, large embellishments or adorable
up-close and, yes, off to the side photographs
all keep Cindy’s pages going… and going… and
going… It seems a bit like these memories
captured on paper – we, as scrapbookers, want
them to last forever. Cindy has a way of doing
just that.
Congratulations, Cindy! We thoroughly enjoyed
seeing your designs and getting to meet you.
Enjoy your month in the spotlight and we wish
you many more days of fond memories and
continued success.

Kiss Me by Cindy Stevens. Supplies:
Paper: Creative Imaginations, American
Crafts, Blooms: Prima, Bazzill, Bling:
Prima, Kaiser Ice, Glitter: Ranger,
Chipboard alphas: American Crafts, Felt
Border: Prima, Rub-ons: Bo Bunny, Stick
Pins: Heidi Grace Other: lace paper
doilies.
Editor’s Note: When you feel you have
the perfect photograph, sometimes it’s a bit
hard to put onto a scrapbook page. Instead
of going out, go “up” – add dimension in
small spaces to draw the eye in to the
pleasing moment.
Design notes: Cut through a die cut
piece of paper and adhere so ends are facing
each other to add interest. Also add rub-ons
over a photo and layer embellishments to add
depth.

Design notes: This is a layout of my son

Alphas: Sassafras Lass, Doodlebug, Making

Design notes: Hand cut interesting
elements from a pattern paper to use on a

branches to add texture. Use pop dots on
alternating letters in a title and overlap them.
This adds depth and texture. |

Design Note:
This is a picture of
our son this summer taking FULL advantage of
our HUGE bed. Make colorful papers and
embellishments 'pop' with a punch of black.
I adhered black cardstock to the back and
then hand cut a thin border around them. To
further make these elements 'pop' adhere
with pop dots.

Might as Well Jump! By Cindy Stevens.
Supplies: Paper, Stickers: Sassafras
Lass, Alphas: Rusty Pickle, Other: photo
corners (created from a suede frame that was
cut in half).
Hi everyone! My name is Cindy and I am a
SAHM to a beautiful 3 and half year old son.
I have been married to my best friend for 8
years. We currently live in Eastern Canada.
I have been 'addicted' to scrapping since
October 2005, shortly after my son was born.
I am drawn to scrapbooking because no one in
my family was ever a 'picture taker'. When I
was little, our house caught on fire and
then we moved a lot, so many of the few
pictures my family possessed were destroyed
or lost. The pictures that remain are not
documented more than the date on the back.
My DH's dad has been scrapping long before
it became trendy and my DH now has a
scrapbook for every year of his life. I want
to be able to give this gift to my family.
My passion for scrapbooking is my little boy
but recently I have ventured into new
territory. I am currently a fan of altering
objects and working on a Book Of Me (BOM) as
well. I have also gotten into sketch
designing which has proven to be a lot of
fun. My style is eclectic and my favorite
products are ANYTHING Sassafras Lass, Love
Elsie, Pink Paislee, Basic Grey, my Crop-a-dile
and anything chipboard. My scrappy goal this
year was to get at least 1 project published
and I was fortunate enough to get a card and
two layouts published this year. Another
first for me this year was holding several
Guest DT positions. I am WAY pumped to be
featured in ScrapStreet.com Magazine!!
