Dora Phillips

Welcome to the holiday season!  How crazy are you already?  Making your list, checking it twice, then forgetting it at home, and buying all kinds of things not on it?  Welcome to my world.  I am not a gal who normally enjoys shopping (except, oddly enough, for scrappy items), but during two weeks in late November I love it - all in an attempt to finish BEFORE Thanksgiving.  You won't find me out braving the crowds on Black Friday (*shudder*), but I will admit to a few online digi purchases.

Why do I shop so early?  One simple reason:  I want to enjoy the entire month of December.  Baking cookies, watching classic shows, playing in the snow with the kids, and making (and documenting) holiday memories.  In order to be able to throw myself into all I love, I tackle that shopping early.  Is there a method to your madness?  A favorite holiday event?

And now, the moment of truth--did I complete my challenge last month?  If you recall, I decided to complete a mini album of all the people and items I am most thankful for.  There were moments during the month that I thought I was completely crazy for even thinking of such a thing, especially when I hit a mid-month mojo drought.  Still, I love a challenge so I persisted through the block and I finished!  And I love it!  A holiday gift to myself that I will treasure forever.

Wishing you the happiest of holidays,

Family Time by Dora Phillips.  Supplies:  Paper, Diecuts, Rubons:  Sweetwater, Ribbon:  Offray, Pen:  Sakura, Font:  Journaling Hand.

Design note: The darling die cuts coordinate perfectly and make for easy page making.  I loved mixing up the circles and strips for the top of this layout.

Editor's Note:  More fun ideas using Sweetwater can be found in our Showroom article.
