Card Corner

Di Hickman

If there is one card you learn to make and keep in your stash at ALL TIMES, it’s a birthday card. After all, who doesn’t celebrate birthdays? I know as each month rolls around, my calendar is peppered with birthdays and party invitations. Having these cards on hand means you’ll never get stuck and have to run out to the store for your greeting card.  It’s the one card that is SURE to save you a small fortune when you make your own!

Editor's note: Any patterned paper against black or another dark color will really pop, but the pastels in this really add drama.

Happy Birthday by Sophie Schoenhentz-Jégo. Supplies: Paper: Provocraft, Cardstock: Bazzill,  Flowers: American Crafts, Die Cuts: Quickutz, Brads: American Crafts, Stamp: CD Stamps, Other: foam, ribbon, corner punch.

Editor's note: Although a simple design, the effect of this card is really dramatic and striking!

Happy Birthday by Melissa Priest.  Supplies: Cardstock: Robin's Nest, Prism, Rub-on: Crate Paper, Ribbon: May Arts, Corner Rounder: Paper Shapers, Hole Punch: Making Memories, Adhesive: Zip dry, Universal Mini Glue Dots.

Editor's note:

The black and blue papers and the diamond design really drew me to selecting this card for the magazine. It's a perfect design for using scraps of patterned paper too!

Happy Birthday by Kristene Boston. Supplies: Paper: Making Memories,Cardstock: Bazzill,  Rub-ons: American Crafts, Ink: Clearsnap.
