Simply Sweet

With Valentines right around the corner, everyone’s sweet tooth is tempted! How about some wonderful paper delights, inky frostings and all the decorative candies, but without all the fat?

Dusted with sweetness and sprinkled with love, here are some beautiful projects to give you delicious and guilt free inspiration!

Hey Cupcake! by Erika Valdez

Supplies: Paper: Die Cuts With a View, Me and My Big Ideas, Ribbon: Simply Grosgrain, Ink: Martha Stewart Crafts, Pens: Sakura, Cri-Kits, Adhesive: Scotch (3M), ZIG Memory System (Kuretake) Other: Kraft cardstock. Tools: Cricut Expression (Provo Craft), Cri-Kits pen holder (Cri-Kits), Cartridge: Rock Princess by Provo Craft, Gypsy Wanderings by Provo Craft, Stamps: Peachy Keen, Pink by Design.

Design Notes: I wanted to make a cute and functional gift for my 10 year old daughter’s friends. I came up with these little sets, they include 10 note cards, envelopes, a mini journal and a mini pen. I had 15 little plastic boxes that I had saved from some floating candles I bought for a party; turns out they were a perfect fit!

Cupcake for Cupcake by Casey Thompson

Digital Supplies: Kit: Balloony Bundle by Project B Designs, Template: La December Blog Challenge by Nikki Epperson and Lauren Grier (Sweet Shoppe Designs), Software: Pixelmator 1.6.2, Fonts: Waterfall.

Design Notes: I am normally not that good at clustering but found this cute template and ran with it. I really loved the stitching included in the kit and the alpha with candle flame. I thought it was an all around neat way to remember by daughter's first ever cupcake...at her first birthday party.

For the Love of Sweets by Janine Allen

Digital Supplies: Kit: Sweet Thing January Newsletter Kit Collab by Chelle's Creations and Designs by Jeni Hopewell (ScrapMatters), Software: Adobe Photoshop CS3, Fonts: Pea Kadee.

Editor's Notes: Janine really personalizes her elements by decolorizing them. I love the warm glow and feeling of her layout, achieved by by using a warming filter.
